Charismatic rising stars Jen-Ting and Jen-Yu Chien, the twin brothers behind the dynamic percussion duo Twincussion, blend Taiwanese folk traditions with innovative interpretations of Western classical music, performing on instruments from marimbas and Chinese opera gongs to electronics.
Winners of the 2016 International Percussion Competition in Italy, they made their Carnegie Hall debut in 2018 and have since performed across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In 2023, they were named Artists of Center Stage Season 6 by the U.S. Department of State and performed at the Kennedy Center as part of the tour. That same year, they premiered Flamboyer, a double concerto by Li-Ying Wu, with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.

In the 2025/26 season, Twincussion joins the roster of Washington Performing Arts, appearing alongside Yo-Yo Ma and Midori. They were also recently featured by the Asia Society, where their performance drew acclaim for its cultural depth and technical brilliance. Both hold the Soloist Diploma from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and are Yamaha and Innovative Percussion artists.

Twin Beats - Melodies and Rhythms from Taiwan
The Twin Beats concert features three key elements: Taiwanese folk songs, original percussion composition, and audience interaction.
Concerto with Orchestra: Flamboyer — Double Concerto for Two Percussionists and Orchestra
Composed by Taiwanese composer Li-Ying Wu, Flamboyer was written expressly for Twincussion. The work draws on the duo’s unique twin synchronicity, weaving Taiwanese musical sensibility into a large-scale orchestral canvas.
La Cuna: For Two Pianos and Two Percussionists
This program pairs two landmark works written for the rare combination of piano duo and percussion duo — a formation that demands extraordinary ensemble precision and musical empathy.
