Dynamic, classically infused percussion spans East and West
Charismatic rising stars Jen-Ting and Jen-Yu Chien, the twin brothers behind the dynamic percussion duo Twincussion, blend Taiwanese folk traditions with innovative interpretations of Western classical music, performing on instruments from marimbas and Chinese opera gongs to electronics.
Winners of the 2016 International Percussion Competition in Italy, they made their Carnegie Hall debut in 2018 and have since performed across the Americas, Europe, and Asia. In 2023, they were named Artists of Center Stage Season 6 by the U.S. Department of State and performed at the Kennedy Center as part of the tour. That same year, they premiered Flamboyer, a double concerto by Li-Ying Wu, with the Danish National Symphony Orchestra.
In 2024, they performed at the Rennes Travel Film Festival in France before embarking on a six-city Taiwan–Japan tour with the Marimba Twins. Both hold the Soloist Diploma from the Royal Danish Academy of Music and are Yamaha and Innovative Percussion artists.

The Twin Beats concert features three key elements:
1 Taiwanese Folk Songs
Twincussion will perform folk music from their birthplace. The audience will be immersed in a mix of Western and Eastern beats through the marimba, drums and traditional Taiwanese instruments. Folk music in Taiwan often illustrate stories of the past, love, peasant life, and how the local people use humor to get through tough times.
2 Original Percussion Composition
Selection of Twincussion’s most impressive contemporary percussion works, including energetic drumming, percussion with electronics and theatrical performance. The twin duo will demonstrate the essential parts of percussion music through their unique virtuosity.
3 Audience Interaction
Twincussion will involve the audience to create an interactive music experience by clapping original rhythms. The twin duo will lead the audience to use their body and groove to the rhythm, so the entire audience will transform into a musical member of the concert.
