A Sparkling Vocalist with Multiple Faces
Sauljaljui is a celebrated Indigenous vocalist from southern Taiwan, known for her soulful blend of traditional Paiwan melodies, Hengchun folk, and global sounds. Her 2025 self-produced album VAIVAIK won Best Indigenous Language Album and Best Arrangement at the Golden Melody Awards (GMA), and also earned Best Folk Album and Best Instrumentalist at the Golden Indie Melody Awards (GIMA).
With her moon lute and powerful voice, she has performed at major festivals including WOMAD (UK), WOMADelaide (AU), Colours of Ostrava (CZ), and Folk Alliance International (CA). Guided by her philosophy, “Finding a Way Home Through Music,” she continues to share Paiwan culture worldwide as a musician and cultural advocate.

Deeply rooted in Taiwan’s soil, her creations masterfully weave the local moon lute (yueqin) melodies of Hengchun with traditional Paiwan nose flute music. Enriched by her extensive international touring experience, she has forged a highly distinctive contemporary style where her live performances seamlessly balance the tender warmth of the earth with a powerful, explosive energy.
This program is more than just a sensory-stirring Taiwanese music concert; it is a highly interactive cultural experience. To meet diverse event needs, the team can also lead immersive cultural workshops focusing on traditional instruments (the moon lute and nose flute) or Indigenous music and dance.
