One Litre Sound, formed in 2015 by a sound artist, a percussionist, and a composer, is dedicated to a diverse range of creative endeavors. Their mission is to redefine the concert experience by transforming it into theatrical blackbox settings and unconventional spaces. This innovative approach enables the audience to immerse themselves in sound, experiencing it in both mesmerizing spatial environment and immediate tactile sensations.

“Reverberation Project,” initiated in 2020, is a series of works that explores the unique characteristics of traditional Taiwanese handmade musical instruments through field research and sound experimentation. The objective is to present these instruments within the contemporary context, utilizing technology and innovative performance techniques to reveal the inherent sonic reverberations within them, and ultimately, enabling the audience to resonate together.
These series of projects have included performances in factories and ruins of former mining sites, blackbox theaters with surround sound, exhibitions in galleries, sound installations, video with live performances, and outdoor events. One Litre Sound is also dedicated to designing workshops that facilitate participant engagement on multiple levels. All these projects serve as a reflection of our journey of re-visiting Taiwanese traditional culture through sound, and how sound can serve as a unifying force across time and space.
