Founded by percussionist Ju Tzong-Ching in 1986, Ju Percussion Group (JPG) is one of Taiwan’s leading contemporary percussion ensembles. Bringing together 19 percussionists and three composers-in-residence, the group is dedicated to performance, artistic creation, education, and the development of percussion music.

Internationally recognized for its distinctive fusion of Eastern and Western musical traditions, JPG moves across contemporary percussion, traditional Asian influences, theatre, and cross-disciplinary performance.

Over four decades, JPG has presented more than 3,500 performances and appeared in 37 countries worldwide. The ensemble has commissioned approximately 287 original works and introduced percussion to more than 160,000 learners through its education programs.

Percussion Concert – Energy ∞ Infinite

JPG’s signature concert program showcases the ensemble’s virtuosity and distinctive repertoire through contemporary percussion, Asian musical influences, and cross-genre works, revealing the expressive range and limitless possibilities of percussion.

Percussion Theatre - MuLan

A theatrical percussion production that brings together the traditions of Peking Opera and contemporary European theatre. Through the interplay of percussion and theatrical expression, MuLan creates a distinctive stage language bridging tradition and contemporary performance.

Percussion Theatre — Hexalogy

A contemporary percussion theatre production where music becomes theatre. Integrating percussion, movement, lighting, and visual design, Hexalogy transforms rhythm and sound into a dynamic stage language, revealing new possibilities for percussion on stage.

JPG x Symphony Orchestra

A collaboration that places percussion at the heart of the orchestral experience. Combining JPG’s distinctive percussion artistry with the rich sonic palette of a symphony orchestra, the program explores new possibilities for dialogue between percussion and orchestra.

  • Touring Personnel:
    • Percussion Concert: Approximately 16 touring members
    • Percussion Theatre: Approximately 45 touring members
    • JPG x Symphony Orchestra: Approximately 10 touring members
  • Performance Fee: Negotiable depending on the number of performances and venues of the same tour
  • Program Duration:
    • Percussion Concert: 100 mins including a 15- 20-min intermission
    • Percussion Theatre: 100 mins (without intermission)
    • JPG x Symphony Orchestra: 70mins (without intermission)

  • Set Up/Move out: Depending on the program, music concert can be set up and performed on the same day. For percussion theatre production, a period of 4–5 days is typically required for set-up, rehearsals, and performance, with room for flexible coordination.
